This Data Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is handled in Forebears for iOS on iPad and iPhone, a software product of Opsisoft Limited
We Collect No Personal Information Using Our Applications
We do not collect, use, save, or have access to any of your personal data recorded in Forebears for iOS on iPad and iPhone. Neither do we collect, use, save, or have access to any other person’s personal data that you as a User choose to import or add into the Forebears for iOS app.
Individual settings relating to the Forebears app are not personal and are stored only on your device. You might also be asked to provide access to your photo library, but this is only so you can copy photos from your photo library into Forebears. We don’t process that information at all and have no access to it.
In addition, if you take a photo from within Forebears for iOS, location data is saved in the image, but we have no access to that data and it is not shared with anyone unless you yourself choose to share the image.
A powerful feature of the Forebears for iOS app is the ability for you to import family history files (so called GEDCOM files) from an external source. You are also able to add family history information yourself into the app to build or extend information about real people who may be alive or dead. We have no access to any of this information that you import or add into the Forebears for iOS app.
Another powerful feature of the Forebears for iOS app is the ability to export entire family history datasets out of the app onto the iOS Files app on your device and onto your iCloud Drive file storage. This allows you to share the information between your iOS devices and with other Forebears for iOS app users if you choose to share it. We have no access to any of this exported data which remains your property and responsibility.
You should be aware that data exported out of the Forebears for iOS app is not encrypted and will include everything that you imported or added in your use of the app, including personal information and images relating to real people alive or dead.
Our Applications Comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act
Our applications don’t collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
